In conjunction with the UC Berkeley Institute of East Asian Studies, the Japan Society is proud to co-sponsor “Catching the Wave: Connecting East Asia through Soft Power.”

What role do culture, product branding, export projection of national cultures, athletic events, and global NGOs play in creating a more unified—or divided—Asia? Scholars from the US, Europe, and Asia will explore recent trends in this two-day conference at UC Berkeley.
