21st Annual US-Japan Friendship Cup Tennis Tournament

Sunday, May 11, 2008

The Japan Society, in partnership with the Millbrae/Burlingame Tennis Group, is proud to present the 21st annual US-Japan Friendship Cup Tennis Tournament.

Started in 1987, this event’s purpose is to develop a warm relationship between the peoples of Japan and the United States. In addition, part of the proceeds will go to the Japanese language education program and tennis team at Mills High School. We celebrated the 20th anniversary of the tournament last year, and we hope this year’s tournament will be even more successful. The tournament’s Consular Cup, which was donated to the tournament in 1990 by the Consulate General of Japan, will be awarded to the winner.

Participants will be divided into women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles teams. The matches will be 8 game sets (i.e., 6-2, 4-4). There will be an award ceremony after the games.
