Lecture on Japan's Defense Policy by Dr. Masashi Nishihara

Please join us for a lecture on Japan's defense policy by Dr. Masashi Nishihara, President of the Research Institute for Peace and Security.

Previously, Dr. Nishihara served as President of the National Defense Academy, where he was also a Professor of International Relations. Among others, Dr. Nishihara is a member of the Trilateral Commission and of The U.K.-Japan 21st Century Group, and, between 2004 and 2006, he served as a member of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission chaired by former Swedish Foreign Minister Hans Blix. Dr. Nishihara has published extensively on Japanese foreign and security policy issues, and he has contributed to international newspapers such as The International Herald Tribune and The Washington Post. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from the University of Michigan.
